Kai! it rained today. That would mean nothing in most parts of the world but in LAGOS, it means wahala. Half of the damned city has flooded and most people are getting from point A to B in bathroom slippers, walking through that murky water that contains every nasty and smelly nonsense you can possibly imagine. I'm watching the world go by through my office window and I cant help but marvel at the organized mess that Lagos is.
Imagine it today with the flood - cars parked haphazardly, random women selling mumchies on the side of the road, a billion mosquitoes singing in peoples ears like a badly tuned amalgamation of musical instruments, cars jam packed back to back and okada men going the wrong way on a one way street. All this happening in the murky water containing "every nasty and smelly nonsense you can possibly imagine". But strangely, this is normal. this is what you may call an organised mess.
